Overview and Synopsis of History

He is the founder and servant-leader of Real Talks Concept, an initiative fostering open and honest conversations around mental health and wellbeing. Additionally, he has been an on-air mental health advocate across southern and north-central Nigeria, amplifying the conversation at the community level. His extensive training includes psychotherapy and counseling, national entrepreneurial training, and specialized pharmaceutical care education. Douglas has also been actively involved in the training of pharmacists’ nationwide, promoting excellence in pharmaceutical care. As an astute administrator in the NGO sector, he has trained community teams for the delivery of ART services and supervised over 20 graduate Corp members; including pharmacists and other health professionals; during their national service year. Douglas is also a passionate advocate for intentional parenting, quality education for children, and ethical medical practices in community health. His multifaceted career is driven by a commitment to social justice, equitable healthcare access, and the right to life and dignity for all.

Douglas Tamunomiebi

T.E Douglas graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from Igbinedion University, Okada, after which heproceeded to the Nigerian Law School. Upon successful completion of the Law School programme, he obtained the Barrister at Law (BL) professional qualification, following which he was called to the Nigerian Bar.

He has acquired over 10 years post-call experience spanning litigation and corporate commercial practice, servingin a law firm where he respresented several national and multinational entities in different capacities; also having worked as in-house counsel with several national banks and a multinational bank in the legal and company Secretariat functions. This equips him with the required skill set and experience to perform credibly as Legal Adviser to this organization.

T. E Douglas

She is the Director of Programs for the Volunteer Medical Corps, Nigeria where she mobilizes resources and medical personnel to carry out medical outreaches to people in rural communities. Outside of her profession, Evelyn is an ardent advocate for quality education for children. She coordinates initiatives that gives children access to quality education, thereby positioning them for better outcomes in life. She founded “Every Child is Your Child,” an initiative dedicated to advocating for access to quality education for children in rural Nigerian communities. She also pioneered the “Catch Them Young Initiative,” through which she provides mentorship to students for academic success and aspiring for a great future. She has volunteered with several organizations including an orphanage in Romania where she cared for children with disabilities and special needs. She has also volunteered with several other organizations to help those in need. In recognition for her community impact, she received the most prestigious award “Africa Hero” in 2023 by the Global Skills Hub, United Kingdom. Other awards include “Impact Personality of the Year 2020” in South-South Nigeria, 100 Brightest Young Minds in Africa in 2018, and State Honors Award by the Benue State Government of Nigeria in 2012. She has participated in various international conferences and training programs to enhance her leadership and impact, including the World Health Summit in Berlin, Germany; Technical Briefing Seminar in Geneva, Switzerland; Common Purpose Leadership training in London, United Kingdom; World Youth Forum in Egypt; and Young Africa Leaders Initiative (YALI West Africa Cohort) in Ghana. She is actively involved in research where she has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications in international journals, reflecting her commitment to translating science into evidence-based global health solutions.

Obeta Gerald

Clinical Psychologist

Obeta Gerald is a distinguished Clinical Psychologist with progressive experience in clinical practice, mental health service delivery, and psychological research. He holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, both of which have provided a solid foundation for his professional expertise and academic inquiry. He has demonstrated a strong commitment to evidence-based psychological interventions, having successfully managed a wide spectrum of psychological conditions through structured assessments, psychotherapeutic techniques, and behavioral modification strategies. His clinical competence is complemented by a profound dedication to promoting mental health and psychosocial well-being among diverse populations. He currently serves as a Clinical Psychologist with the Excellence Community Education Welfare Scheme (ECEWS), where he provides professional mental health and psychosocial support services to individuals living with HIV/AIDS. In this capacity, he plays a pivotal role in enhancing treatment adherence, improving psychological outcomes, and strengthening overall quality of life for clients through individualized and group-based interventions. In recognition of his outstanding professional service, Mr. Obeta received an Award of Excellence and Recommendation from the Anambra State Government, acknowledging his dedication, effectiveness, and impact in the field of mental health and community service. A passionate researcher and advocate for psychological well-being, Mr. Obeta is a member of the Nigerian Psychological Association (NPA) and the Association for Family and Society Scientists (AFSS). He has participated in numerous capacity-building and professional development engagements, including the National Scientific Conferences and Annual General Meetings of the Nigerian Psychological Association, the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board Meetings, and several workshops focused on clinical innovation, psychosocial support systems, and public mental health advocacy. His professional interests lie in advancing evidence-based psychological practices, integrating psychosocial care into public health systems, and contributing to the development of sustainable mental health frameworks in Nigeria and beyond.

FARA’A NANA GAJI

Lead Counsellor and Therapist

Fara’a, a Community Development Manager with the People-Oriented Development (POD) unit of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA). With years of experience working with underprivileged and stigmatized communities, she helps people rebuild confidence, embrace innovation, and create sustainable change in their lives.
Fara’a holds a Diploma in Law, a B.Sc. in Criminology and Security Studies, and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Psychology. She also holds a Certificate in Counseling and several leadership and professional development certifications.
Her passion for mental health and human resilience stems from personal experience; navigating through the pain of losing both parents and a sibling at a young age. Rather than breaking under life’s weight, she learned to rise above it. Her story is one of resilience, tenacity, and self-awareness, and it forms the backbone of her mission: to help others find their strength, rediscover hope, and build coping mechanisms that sustain them through life.
Fara’a is deeply committed to helping young people; especially those in marginalized communities; leads women’s empowerment and leadership training, helping women rediscover direction, build self-awareness, and grow into balanced, purpose-driven individuals.and young people become self-reliant, emotionally strong, and economically active. Through these initiatives, she bridges mental well-being with community growth; showing that mental strength is not just about survival, but about creating a life of purpose, self-awareness, and impact.

PROF. OLOBAYO O. KUNLE

Senior Research Consultant

Professor Olobayo Olufunsho KUNLE is a Pharmacist with over 40 years post qualification experience. He holds a Masters and a PhD in pharmaceutics. He has been engaged in various aspects of research over the past 40 years. He was a pioneer member of staff of the National Institute for Pharmaceutical Research and Development (NIPRD), Abuja, where he set up the Department of Pharmaceutics. As a researcher he has been actively involved in the development of dosage forms for new medicines in addition to his work on the development of pharmaceutical raw materials, especially starches and the formulation of Nigerian herbal medicines into standardized formulations, areas in which he is an authority. He was Principal Investigator for a number of internationally funded research projects. He has collaborated with several scientists both within and outside the country on research projects and has published about 100 papers in peer reviewed scientific journals and made presentations at both local and international conferences. He is the Managing Editor of the Institute’s Journal, JOPAT in addition to which he is a reviewer for several local and international journals. He was also a member of the NIPRD Health Research Ethics Committee. He is experienced in policy formulation serving on a number of government committees including; the Ministerial Committee for the development of Guidelines for drug distribution in Nigeria, the Presidential Committee on the Pharmaceutical Sector, Committee on Drafting and Monitoring of the Health Sector Reforms, Committee on a Pharmacovigilance policy for Nigeria and the Investigation Committee of the Kano Trovan Clinical Trials whose report led to landmark changes in clinical trial regulation internationally. He also served on the Governing Boards of some Agencies including NAFDAC and the PCN. He has collaborated with several scientists both within and outside the country on research projects. He has spent time in other including Howard University where he participated in the   simplification of the synthesis of some antimalarials. He was a Visiting Professor of Pharmaceutics at the Olabisi Onabanjo University and is presently a Visiting Professor at University of Abuja and Veritas University, Abuja Nigeria.

He is presently a Member/Rapporteur of the WHO Regional Advisory Committee on traditional medicines for COVID-19; Alternate Lead of the Research Functional Group of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19; Chairman of NIPRD Task Team on COVID-19; and Member/Rapporteur of the Exploratory Group on the International Herbal Pharmacopeia. He was Acting Director General of the National Institute for Pharmaceutical research and Development (NIPRD) in which role he ensured the accreditation of some of the Institute’s laboratories to ISO 17025. He was most recently the Chief of Staff at the Standards Organisation of Nigeria in which role he commenced the efforts towards the accreditation of some of scopes in the National Metrological Institute (NMI). In addition, he ensured the retention and expanded accreditation of scopes in the SON Laboratories in line with ISO 17025. He was a member of the FCT Drug Abuse Control Committee for several years.

Faithful Ebrubaoghene Enakirerhi

Faithful Ebrubaoghene Enakirerhi is a dedicated accounting professional and passionate advocate for youth development and social welfare. She holds a BSc in Accounting from Rivers State University of Science and Technology in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. To further enhance her skills, she pursued a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration from the University of Benin. Additionally, she is a Certified Chartered Accountant and member of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria showcasing her expertise in the field of accounting. She is currently an active civil servant with the Accountant Generals office of the Delta State Government. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Faithful is deeply committed to making a positive impact on the lives of children and young adults. Her passion for empowering the next generation is evident in her volunteer work with several organizations. She is actively involved with the Peer Educators arm of UNICEF where she contributes to training young girls in secondary schools about HIV and AIDS prevention and care. This initiative reflects her dedication to health education and awareness. Faithful also volunteers with the Global Change Academy, focusing on character development, moral values, and life skills for children aged 6 to 18. Her work with this organization highlights her belief in the importance of nurturing young minds and equipping them with the tools they need to thrive. As a certified Teen Mentor and Coach One of Faithful’s notable initiatives is the “Campus Induction” program, which she personally runs. This program is designed for students about to enter university, providing them with essential information and skills to navigate life outside their parents’ roof. Through this initiative, she aims to prepare young adults for the challenges and opportunities that university life presents, ensuring they are well-equipped to succeed academically and personally. Faithful’s commitment to youth development, education, and social welfare demonstrates her desire to create a lasting impact on her community. Her work serves as an inspiration to others, showcasing the power of passion, dedication, and service to others.

Dr. Jane Miebimo Igali is a dedicated graduate physician from the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, with 14 years of extensive experience in family medicine. As a passionate advocate for community involvement in healthcare, she actively promotes group therapy as a vital tool for combating grief and stress.

Her expertise spans family medical practice, counseling, and championing child education with a specialized focus on childhood trauma management. Dr. Igali’s approach integrates compassionate care with community empowerment, aiming to foster holistic healing and resilience among individuals and families.

Currently serving as a resident physician in family medicine, Dr. Igali remains committed to advancing mental health awareness and improving healthcare outcomes at the grassroots level.
